• Climbed trees, explored drainage ditches, built sketchy forts out of scrap wood—and no adult had any clue where we were.

• We were out here living like it was Lord of the Flies with a lunchbox.

🔥 Learning the Hard Way

• We lit things on fire for fun, because science.

• We watched movies we had no business watching—Robocop, Aliens, Faces of Death—and somehow we’re fine.

• We learned how to navigate the world with a bike chain, a quarter for a payphone, and the sheer will to not get caught.

🧠 The Impact?

• We became independent, resourceful, and low-key unshakable.

• We don’t need constant validation—we survived without supervision, participation trophies, or snack breaks.

• We’re the ones now teaching our kids how to use common sense, because we had no other choice growing up.

So yeah—Gen X didn’t have supervision.
And somehow, we turned out awesome. Or at least, functional and funny, which is honestly better.
